Pain In The Shins

Pain In The Shins

Story By: Thomas Busch
Illustration: Enrique Barrios
Starring: Tommy Busch, Dave Hernandez, Tommy's Dad, Susan Busch

"Pain In The Shins" is a great short but comical and dark story of Thomas Busch and his several episodes dealing with awkwardness. As the illustrator, It was a pleasure drawing the "Grateful Dead" as a picture as well as try to replicate some of the actual Fillmore Music Festival posters for some of the backgrounds illustrated in this issue. I've learned to draw backgrounds especially when they deal with music scenarios. I think working with Mr. Thomas Busch makes that opportunity come more often than not.

I speak for myself but I am sure my good friend feels the same and we want to thank all our friends for their great feedback, support, and some really cheap bar tabs. We hope you enjoy this issue. It's a hefty one, so we'll probably going to take a short weekly brake unless somehting fast comes up that I can sketch up and Tommy can write.

Lustfully Yours,
Enrique

  1. Enrique, you made my night.

It was a childhood dream to be a comic artist, and I used to plow through bizarre underground comics in an attempt at being subversive or creatively different as a middle schooler. Anyway, the point of that side journey, is to say that your comics (in tone, humor, honesty) are phenomenal and deserving of some 1970's xerox type release...hard copies... BRAVO TOM & ENRIQUE!

Man, I saw the little icon on facebook and I thought they were R. Crumb.

What a pick me-up. This world needs more of this.

You really, really got something here. Congrats!
